Borro

Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

Borro has no accounts and keeps no database of its users. This page says what is processed when you use borro.markets, by whom, and what you can do about it.

01Who we are

Borro is a website and a set of smart contracts on Robinhood Chain. "Borro", "we" and "us" mean the people who run borro.markets. We do not hold your money or your keys, and we are not a bank.

For anything about privacy, write to team@borro.markets.

02No account required

You use Borro from your own wallet. There is no sign-up. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number or identity documents. We do not run advertising or tracking scripts, and we do not sell personal data.

03Information that is processed

Public blockchain data. Your wallet address and every transaction you send to Borro's contracts are recorded on Robinhood Chain. That record is public and permanent. Anyone can read it, and nobody, including us, can change or delete it.

The $BORRO claim list. To pay out $BORRO, our service counts what each wallet has lent, borrowed and shorted from that public record, and publishes a list of wallet addresses and the $BORRO each has earned at borro.markets/rewards.json. It holds nothing that is not already on the chain.

Request data. When your browser loads the website, our hosting provider receives the usual request details: IP address, time, the page asked for and browser type. We use this to serve the site and keep it secure.

Questions to the chain. The app reads the chain through our own server, which passes the questions on to our node provider. Once you connect, those questions include your wallet address. The node provider sees our server, not your IP address.

Storage in your browser. The app keeps a few small values on your own device so it works: that you have seen the welcome card and agreed to these terms, and which wallet you chose last. While the site is behind a preview password, one cookie remembers that you entered it. None of this is used for advertising or to follow you across sites.

Email you send us. If you write to us, we receive your address and what you wrote, and we keep it for as long as we need to deal with your message.

Your seed phrase and private keys never leave your wallet. We never see them and will never ask for them.

04Third-party services

Using the website means your browser, or our server for you, talks to services we do not run. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Cloudflare hosts the website and runs the server that passes the app's questions to the chain.
  • Alchemy is our Robinhood Chain node provider. It receives the app's questions to the chain, through our server.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces; your browser asks it directly.
  • DefiLlama supplies the rate of the vault that holds shorts' money; your browser asks it directly.
  • Hyperliquid supplies the weekend reference prices; your browser asks it directly while stock markets are closed.
  • Your wallet software signs and sends your transactions, and may use its own node provider.
  • Block explorers open when you follow a link to a contract or an address.

05How information is used

Only to run, secure, maintain and improve the app, to count and publish $BORRO rewards, to answer you when you write to us, and to meet legal obligations. Never for advertising, and never for sale.

06Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that make the website work, as listed above, and when the law requires it. We may also disclose information where that is needed to protect users or the app from harm.

07Security

The main protection is that we hold very little. We take reasonable care of the systems we control, but no system is perfectly secure. Keeping your wallet and its keys safe is up to you.

08Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you and to have it corrected or deleted. Because we hold so little that is tied to who you are, there is usually not much to find or erase. Write to us and we will tell you what we have.

You can clear the values stored in your browser at any time through its settings. Data recorded on the blockchain cannot be altered or deleted by anyone.

09Children

Borro is for people aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the changed policy.
